ACADEMICS DEMAND CHANCELLOR'S RESIGNATION
A professors' committee to protect democracy, consisting of university professors and associates from all over Serbia, announced that, from noon till 3 p.m. on Feb. 10, 1,435 professors and associates individually requested the unconditional resignation of the Belgrade University president, Dragutin Velickovic. The Belgrade university administration office announces that 1,435 professors and associates filed written requests for president Velickovic's resignation. The statement says that the action continues. Students have protested for more than 80 days, also requesting Velickovic's resignation, but he refuses to vacate his post.
