Students from Nis started for Belgrade

A group of students from the University of Nis started for Belgrade on foot precisely at noon on 15th December 1996. On Sunday morning, the students from Nis sent a letter to Slobodan Milosevic, President of Serbia, in which they asked him to receive this student delegation. "We wish that civil war never breaks out in Serbia again and we are determined not to allow dictatorial rule in this country. We therefore kindly ask you to return into the limits of law," reads the letter In their letter, the students expressed their hope that 48 hours of walking would be enough for them to be received by Slobodan Milosevic.
