BELGRADE, Yugoslavia (AP)
Students continue protests

Nearly 10,000 Belgrade University students took their demonstrations into the 88th day, demanding the ouster of the pro-Milosevic university rector and the punishment of those responsible for beating peaceful protesters.

They are also calling for restoring opposition electoral victories in two Belgrade districts, liberalization of the media and autonomy for the university.

Student spokesman Dusan Vasiljevic said the students could resume their studies at the university next Monday if all their demands are met, the Fonet independent news agency reported.
