The Schools of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering

Another little project by the two most prominent engineering schools: since the Chancellor was not found yesterday in the city zoo, maybe he is in the Danube - hiding. The plan was for the students to fish for the Chancellor in order to bring him to the public. The student procession numbering a few hundred students walked from the engineering campus to the 25th of May recreational center on the bank of the Danube, one of the places where one can do some amateur fishing. We were armed with fishing rods and other necessary equipment. The trip was not successful and it was concluded that the Chancellor is too little a fish to be caught by the student hooks. On the way back the students raided the No. 24 bus, which passes by the Plato. The driver didn't stop all the way to the Plato sympathizing with the students. The merry "fishermen" were greeted with a great applause by their colleagues.

The Plato

The sunny day was a pleasant difference after the weary weather yesterday and the Plato was filled by a much greater crowd. There were no special guests today, but Cedomir Joovanovic of the Student Protest '96/97 Initiative Board did address the students in his usual manner. And the walk started...

The "Walk"

The walk started late but that only meant that there were more students to go for the walk. The students visited the teachers which are picketing the Serbian government, again. We passed through Kolarceva and Srpskih Vladara, Kneza Milosa and Nemanjina, Beogradska, Bulevar Revolucije and Takovska, and back to the Plato via Ivo Lola Ribar and Makedonska. There was no incident noted during the walk and the gathering has been scheduled for tomorrow at noon.
