RE: URGENT - BK TELECOM SHUTDOWN
Yesterday Commercial Court in Belgrade ruled that
Radio-Television of
Serbia (RTS) and PTT-Serbia (Post, Telegraph, Telephone) should allow BK
TV to operate freely throughout Serbia. Today, we received a statement
through state news agency TANJUG from newly appointed Federal Minister
for Telecommunications.
After a day spent in his cabinet, Minister Dojcilo Radojevic,
says that
“Ministry for Telecommunications is stating that BK TV broadcasts its
programming from all locations without proper permissions”. If we
understood well, this massage means the drama created around BK TV is
soon to be over. Unlike the Commercial Court, Mr. Minister believes
that BK Telecom should be shut down, not only in rural Serbia, but in
Belgrade and Novi Sad as well.
Throughout the night we plan to broadcast reactions to this
statement
by Ministry for Telecommunications.
