Icon Collection of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Dubrovnik


The mansion of the Bonda family, next door to the Orthodox church, houses this collection of 77 icons dating from the 15th to the 19th century and exemplying different styles and origines: Dubrovnik, Kotoric, Risanic, Italo-Byzantine, Russian and early Cretan. The collection also contains eight portraits of prominent citizens of Dubrovnik, painted by Vlaho Bukovac. The library preserves a facsimile of the Miroslav Gospels dating from the 12th century. The collection began with a nucleus of items belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church in Dubrovnik.
