I also made the unfortunate decision to go with friends to see the movie "The
Rock" over the weekend. I tell you this because I am still outraged by the
film. In the beginning of the movie the chemical weapons specialist played
by Nicholas Cage, is in a gas chamber checking out a shipment of toys from
Serbs in the United States to Bosnian refugees. On the box is a Serbian flag
and the words (in cyrillic no less) "Sloboda ili Smrt." (Obviously someone
knew what he or she was doing). He opens the box, pulls out a doll, the the
doll begins to spew sarin gas out of its mouth. The other guy in the chamber
with Nicholas Cage says-- as they are trying to difuse the bomb -- "Who could
do a thing like this." Nicholas Cage responds "There are 10 million Serbs
outside of Yugoslavia and they don't like the bosnians very much."
